Fun

What is "fun"? Can we model it? If we could model it, what could we do with it? Why do we care about "fun"? These are the questions that we started out with at the workshop.

We know fun when we see it. Some, such as Koster attempt to define it. But in the course of the workshop, we decided it best not to try to come up with one definition that would suit all purposes. Instead, "fun" is to be used as a rallying point for a basic research need. Individual research efforts are then free to substitute their own definition, or substitute other terms such as engagement, immersion, flow, motivation, or replayability.
